GroupBy is Alive! Introducing the new GroupBy Organizing Committee

GroupBy has been in a bit of a transition over the last few months. In this blog post Brent Ozar outlined that the future of GroupBy was up in the air, so a few #SQLFamily volunteers opted to keep this going. It’s a great, free resource for community members to increase their skills and perfect their speaking chops. It’s free, and it’s amazing.

We’re happy to announce that GroupBy will remain a free, volunteer-run event, staffed with SQL Community volunteers.

Meet your new GroupBy organization committee:

Aaron NelsonLinkedin | Twitter | SQLVariant Blog
Aaron is a senior data architect with over 15 years of experience in Business Intelligence, database development, and performance tuning. He is a Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Microsoft MVP, and PASS volunteer. He speaks at PASS, local SQL user groups in Atlanta, and leads the PowerShell Virtual Chapter. He figured he didn’t have enough to do with all that, so he’s come to help grow speaker talent at GroupBy

Blythe Morrow LinkedIn | Twitter | Paper Sword
Blythe is a Data Platform Marketing specialist with over 10 years of experience in SQL Server. She owns Paper Sword B2B, a marketing agency that helps data companies tell their story and generate leads. She worked for PASS as the Community Manager years ago, and she just can’t let go of her #SQLFamily. She’s handling the marketing. She’s writing this right now. Hi.

Daniel Hutmacher LinkedIn | Twitter | Structured Concepts AB
Daniel is the GroupBy European connection. Based out of Stockholm Sweden, he runs Structured Concepts with 15 years of SQL Server, DW and ETL experience. He’s a SQL Server blogger, community speaker, SQL Saturday organizer and a Board member of the Swedish SQL Server User Group. Daniel wants to increase the European community involvement of GroupBy and is excited to help keep training globally accessible and free.

We’re working hard to get our feet underneath GroupBy and will have an announcement later this week with the date for the next event and when voting will open for the event. We want to thank Brent so much for giving this event back to the community. We’re going to work hard to do right by it.
